Australian Bush Sofra

Aunty Dale, FNBBAA and My Dilly Bag played a huge role in the success of our “Australian Bush Sofra” event in Kuwait City (sofra is an Arabic term for a dining table at which family and friends gather).

Aunty Dale’s guidance in curating the menu, and providing us with a range of ingredients and spices that she thought would suit us best, helped us celebrate Indigenous culture and history in a truly authentic way.

Aunty Dale took the time to understand our event and our vision, and worked hand-in-hand with our local partners in Kuwait to provide insight on the significance of the selected ingredients and how they should be used to bring out the true flavors and aromas of each spice.

With Aunty Dale, FNBBAA and My Dilly Bag, we were able to introduce Indigenous culture to Kuwait in a way that truly honored country and community.

We were blown away by the quality of the spices and are so grateful for her commitment to sharing her culture with us and Kuwait.

Our guests were full of praise for the event and were particularly touched by the impactful Welcome to Country that Aunty Dale so generously sought permission for.

We will not hesitate to work with her and her team in the future and will similarly recommend My Dilly Bag to other missions in our diplomatic network.
